Pangpang sè Kamantan is the legend of the construction of the Great Mosque in Bangkalan. The king’s men find three great columns for the mosque but can only find a fourth that is a little short and slightly crooked. A wise man with sakti (supernatural powers) counsels the king to parade the defective column around the city while praying, which results in a fourth perfect column. As told by Pak Moh. Hasan Sasra
